The Father – Opens April 14th

Three-time Tony Award winner Frank Langella returns to Broadway in the American premiere of a new play about a man falling into the grip of dementia.

News and Notes:

Heather Headley, who won the 2000 Tony as Best Actress in a Musical for her performance in “Aida,” will make a long-awaited return to Broadway as Shug Avery in the acclaimed revival of The Color Purple. She replaces Jennifer Hudson, who will give her last performance in the role at the 5/8 matinee. Headley’s first performance will be 5/10. For more on this announcement, click here.

The Tony Awards are just around the corner! Nominations for the 70th Annual awards ceremony will be announced 5/3.  The Tony Awards Administration Committee met for the third time this season to determine award eligibility for 11 Broadway productions including School of Rock—The Musical, The Color Purple, Fiddler on the Roof, The Humans, Eclipsed, Disaster!, Blackbird and She Loves Me.
