A revival of the hit musical that follows a peasant girl and her star-crossed romance with a young man from the wealthy side of her island, which is ruled by four island gods.
Farinelli and the King – Begins December 5th
Tony Winner Mark Rylance stars in the true story of Philip V of Spain who finds relief from depression by performances of a court musician, the famous castrato Farinelli.

Crazy For You Revival To Play L.A. Before Broadway
- The Tony Award-winning Best Musical, Crazy for You, with music and lyrics by George Gershwin and Ira Gershwin and a book by two-time Tony Award nominee Ken Ludwig (Lend Me a Tenor), will play an exclusive pre-Broadway engagement at the Ahmanson Theatre in Los Angeles. Susan Stroman, who won the first of her five Tony Awards for choreographing the original 1992 Broadway production, will direct and choreograph the limited L. A. engagement, which will run February 7 – March 18, 2018. Crazy for You is an irresistibly funny valentine to the American musicals of the 1930s., featuring classic Gershwin songs like “I Got Rhythm,” “They Can’t Take That Away from Me” and many more. Cyndi Lauper to Pen Score for Working Girl Musical
- Producers have announced plans to adapt the blockbuster film Working Girl into a Broadway musical with music and lyrics by Grammy, Emmy, and Tony Award-winner Cyndi Lauper and book by FOX TV’s The New Girl writer and Tigers Be Still playwright Kim Rosenstock. In 2013, Lauper became the first solo woman to win the Tony Award for best original score for her music and lyrics for Kinky Boots. Directed by Mike Nichols, Working Girl premiered in 1988 and went on to receive the Golden Globe for Best Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy and an Academy Award nomination for Best Picture. SpongeBob SquarePants Musical to Open on Broadway This Fall
- SpongeBob SquarePants, the new musical based on the hit Nickelodeon cartoon series, will begin Broadway previews November 6 at the Palace Theatre, with an official opening night set for December 4. The show will arrive in New York after a spring 2016 world-premiere engagement in Chicago (then titled The SpongeBob Musical), where it was met with mostly positive reviews from critics. Several members of the Chicago cast will transfer with the production, including newcomer Ethan Slater, who will make his Broadway debut in the title role. More details here.
Escape to Margaritaville to Play Broadway’s Marquis Theatre
- Escape to Margaritaville, the new musical featuring the songs of Jimmy Buffett, will play Broadway’s Marquis Theatre next year. The show will begin previews on February 16, 2018 with opening night set for March 15. The new musical includes Buffett’s classic hits, as well as original songs from the singer/songwriter. Come From Away‘s Tony-nominated director Christopher Ashley will helm the production. Escape to Margaritaville is currently making its world premiere at La Jolla Playhouse, in an extended run scheduled through July 9. The production will then play New Orleans and Houston before making its Broadway bow. More details here.
